1.0     Introduction:

Society for Family Health hereby invites Tenders from reputable and competent construction firms for the construction of warehouses and office blocks at Otta Ogun State.

2.0     Scope of Works:

  1. General items
  2. Foundation works
  3. Concrete works
  4. Block works
  5. Metal works
  6. Aluminum works
  7. Electrical works
  8. Plumbing works
  9. Finishing works.

3.0     Technical Requirements:

To tender, interested companies must submit the following documents:

  1. Evidence of company registration with Corporate Affairs Commission, with copies of certificate of incorporation, and memorandum of Association.
  2. Verifiable proofs of company’s technical ability to undertake building construction projects. Evidence of similar and other projects successfully executed will be an added advantage.
  3. Company profile to include evidence of personnel capability including list of key professionals with their curriculum vitae, evidence of registration of the personnel with relevant professional bodies.
  4. Company’s financial details and audited accounts for the most recent three years.
  5. Evidence of VAT registration/Remittance certificate and tax certificate for the past recent three years.
  6. All relevant information concerning contacts, telephone, fax, valid correspondence and e-mail address of the company.

4.0     Collection of Tender Documents:

Tender documents will be collected at our Abuja or Lagos Offices on presentation of non – refundable fee of N30, 000.00 (thirty thousand naira only) as a bank draft in favor of Society for Family Health.

5.0     Submission of Tender Documents

Three copies of technical and financial proposals must be Separately submitted in sealed envelopes and clearly marked “Technical and Financial proposal” and put together in a bigger Single envelope which should be marked “Tender for the construction of warehouses and office block, public procurement advert 010/11/0001, and addressed to Deputy Director, Procurement, Society for Family Health, 8, Port Harcourt Crescent, Off Gimbiya Street, Area 11, Garki Abuja and dropped into the tender boxes located at any of our office addresses below:

Rehabilitation/Extension of the Water Production and Distribution Systems for Obudu, Cross River State

Contract/Bid No. CR/II NUWSRP/NTCWKS/ICB/002.

This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 673 of February 28, 2006 on-line and in DG Market.

The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) ) in 2005 received a Credit of USD 200 million from the International Development Association (IDA); an additional financing to the tune of USD100 million is being processed towards the cost of the Second National Urban Water Sector Reform Project (2nd Urban Water) CR.4086 (P071 391).

The Federal Government of Nigeria intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for the Rehabilitation/Extension of the Water Production and Distribution Systems for Obudu in Cross River State, Nigeria: The Cross River State Water Board Limited, the implementation agency for the Cross River State Government intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the Rehabilitation/Extension of the Water Production and Distribution Systems for Obudu in Cross River State, Nigeria

The Scope of the works is as follows:

  • Construction of an Intake, Low Lift Pumping Station and Raw Water Main.
  • Construction of a Water Treatment Plant Capacity 156 m3/h); High Lift Pump Station and Treated Water Transmission Mains: OD 500 mm Ductile Iron/ or Steel/ or Glass reinforced Polyester (GRP) – 50 m; OD 400 mm Ductile Iron/ or Steel/ or Glass reinforced Polyester (GRP) – 25 m and OD400- 160 mm uPVC – 19,250m.
  • Construction of a concrete ground level reservoir
  • Construction of Elevated Water Tanks
  • Supply and laying of water distribution pipes with accessories totaling approximately 15km with diameters ranging from OD 75 mm to OD 315mm.
  • Construction of house connections and water kiosks.

It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in APRIL, 2011.

Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, revised October 1,2006 and May 1,2010 and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the Cross River State Water Board at the address below from 0900 to 1600. The prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of NGN 15,000.00 (Fifteen thousand naira only) or U$D 100 (One hundred United States dollars) or the equivalent sum in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be by cheque, in cash or bank draft, made out in favour of Cross River State Water Board Limited.

The Prequalification Document soft copy could be sent by electronic mail, but a set in hard copy will be sent if so requested by an applicant who chooses not to collect same in person by courier upon additional payment of fifteen thousand Naira (N15,000.00) or one hundred US Dollars (US$100) for Europe and West Africa or thirty thousand Naira (N30, 000.00) or two hundred US Dollars (US$ 200) for all other countries payable to the Cross River State Water Board Limited on or before 16th December 2010 before bid closing to cover the cost of the delivery to bidders by courier.

The complete set of the Bidding Documents prepared based on the World Bank’s Standard Bidding Documents Procurement of Works (2010 version) shall be issued to Firms who pre-qualify, upon payment of a further non-refundable fee of NGN 60.000.0X) (sixty thousand naira only) or U$D 400 (Four hundred United States dollars) or the equivalent sum in a freely convertible currency, The method of payment will be by cheque, in cash or bank draft, made out in favour of Cross River State Water Board Limited.

The Provision of Outsourcing Services for Global Distance Learning Centre, Abuja, Nigeria

Federal Ministry of Finance intends to outsource the management of the Global Distance Learning Centre to a competent firm. The objective of the Centre is to improve efficiency of resource use, enhance the capacity of Public and Private Sector, foster greater transparency and accountability in fiscal operations, improve the quality and timeliness of data for policy and economic decision making and enhance the capacity in the public sector, to coordinate and monitor macroeconomic and structural policies and to increase access to high quality, up-to-date and cost effective training of public and private decision makers and implementers, so as to enhance their capacity to design, plan and manage economic and social development policies through the application of video conference facilities and Electronic Systems. The facility will serve as a Centre of Excellence for Exchange of Information and Experience.

The Federal Ministry of Finance now invites eligible Firm to indicate their   interest in providing the outsourcing services. Interested Firms must provide comprehensive resume or curriculum vitae detailing qualification, experience, financial ability to run the centre and evidence of any similar assignment carried out in the past with relevant references.

The specific services required are as follows:

  • Efficient management of the Centre to World Class standard,
  • Trainings at the Centre to focus on professional development of senior policy makers in both Public and Private Sectors among others.
  • In addition, the facility would provide access to IMF and World Bank database, academic and research institutions database and in addition, provide Video-conference facility for meetings, negotiations etc and it is expected to be managed profitably.

Objective:

The major objective of the assignment is the provision of effective management of the Global Distance Learning Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.

Duration: The outsourcing will be for 5 years in the first instance and thereafter may be reviewed for another term.

Responsibilities:

Effective Management of the Global Distance Learning Centre, Abuja -Nigeria.

Minimum Qualification:

  • A Qualified ICT/Management Training Firm with at least 10 years experience in public and private sector activities;
  • Efficient marketing ability and strategy;
  • Experience in dealing with public and private sector Management in Nigeria would be an advantage,
  • References from similar assignments carried out in the past.

Interested Firms must provide comprehensive Company Resume and curriculum vitae detailing educational, professional qualifications and experience of Key Staff. Evidence and references of experience in similar project is vital.

A Firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers 2004.

(b)     Institutional Arrangement:

The Client (FMF) will facilitate the work of the Successful Firm.
