The National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna is in the process of implementing the 2012 Capacity Building Workshops for 125,000 Primary and Junior Secondary School teachers in about 250 designated centre’s nationwide. The workshops are scheduled to hold during the Long Vacation (August/September 2012).

The essence of the training is to refresh the participants in the innovative techniques of Basic Teaching Methodologies, Classroom Management Techniques, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Language Communication Skills.

 

The workshops will be funded from the Debt Relief Grant and implemented under the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Projects. The workshops will be facilitated by selected resource persons using specially designed self-instructional manuals (one on each subject).

 

The National Teachers’ Institute is by this advertisement inviting reputable printers to tender for:

1.       The printing of training manuals and

2.       The production of customised CD Plates for Participants

 

The printers will be required to meet the standards determined by the Institute in terms of quality of materials and finished products, capacity for timely delivery and adequate facilities to deliver.

 

Prequalification Requirements

Interested firms should submit their bids along with the documents mentioned hereinafter in a sealed envelope to the address indicated below. Failure to submit any of the underlisted documents may lead to the disqualification of the bid:

i.        Full detail of the Company’s profile

ii.       Certificate of Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission

iii.      Tax Clearance Certificate for at least Three years

iv.      Evidence of VAT Registration and Remittance

v.       Evidence of similar job(s) executed in the past (with verifiable addresses)

vi.      Organizational structure, available manpower with list of technical staff with their resumes

vii.     List of equipment/Distribution facilities

viii.    Evidence of financial capability/Bank Reference and Annual Turn Over of at least N50 Million Duly Stamped by the Bank

xi.      Payment of non-refundable bidding fee of N30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand         Naira only) payable to the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna

 

The specification for the manuals and CD Plates is outlined in the bidding documents which is available for collection at the NTI Headquarters, Kaduna.

Printers will be selected in accordance with the provisions of the Procurement Act 2007 and Due Process mechanism.

 

Bid Presentation

Technical and Financial bids (2 hard copies) shall be submitted in two different sealed envelopes and labeled “Technical Bid” and “Financial bid” respectively with the firm’s name indicated at the back of each envelope. Both envelopes should be sealed and placed in the third envelope marked with the Lot No and Name at the Top right hand corner and addressed to the Director-General and Chief Executive, National Teachers’ Institute, KM5 Kaduna-Zaria Road, P.M.B. 2191, Kaduna duly marked Printing or Production of CD Plates”. The bid should be dropped in the Tender Box in the office of the Registrar. Bidders are to ensure that they also sign the Submission Register in the Registrar’s office.

The Coordinating Consulting firms will be expected to:

i.        Coordinate the provision and distribution of light refreshment to Participants   and Resource Persons in each designated centre in the states within each         geo­political zone and

 

ii.       Coordinate the provision and distribution of customized stationery items to Participants and Resource Persons in each designated training centre in the states within each geo-political zone.

 

The Biometric Consultant will be expected to:

i.        Assist the Institute in creating Data base of participants

ii.       Assist the Institute in screening out repeaters

iii.      Generate statistics for decision making according to different criteria

iv.      Generate Report according to the Format decided by the Institute

Introduction:

The National Centre for Energy Research and Development hereby invites  interested and credible companies with verifiable track record of performance to apply for pre-qualification for the various projects of the Centre for the 2012 fiscal years.

 

Scope

The scope of work includes:

Lot 1 Acquisition of Research Equipment for PV & Solar Thermal (NCERD, Nsukka).

Lot 2 Procurement of Biomass Research Equipment (NCERD, Nsukka).

Lot 3 Procurement of Laboratory Equipment for Production of Biofuel (Biogas, Biodlesel and Bioethanol) Plant Components.

Lot 4       Establishment of  Energy Reference Library, Books, Journals and specialized software, Nsukka; To Achieve Effective Promotion and Coordination of Renewable Energy Research and Development Activity.

Lot 5 Completion of Access Road and Landscaping of Centre Ground (NCRD, Nsukka).

 

Pre-Qualification Criteria:

Interested companies should submit their detailed pre-qualification documents for assessment containing the underlisted documents:

i.        Evidence of incorporation of the company with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

ii.       Evidence of Recent Annual Returns to Corporate Affairs Commission     (CAC).

iii.      Evidence of Current Tax Clearance Certificate i.e (2009, 2010 and 2011).

iv.      Evidence of VAT Certificate and VAT remittances to Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS).

v.       Company profile with list of staff, including curriculum vitae, competence,          qualifications, registration with relevant professional bodied and experience      of key personnel.

vi.      Evidence of previous similar projects undertaken in the past five (5) year including scope of project site of project, contract sum, evidence of successful completion of the project (interim/final valuation & certificate).

vii.    Evidence of possession of plants and equipment and a listing of such plants as possessed/owned by the firm. State location of the plants and equipment for ease of verification.

viii.    Evidence of Current Audit Account of Firm for the last three (3) years i.e (2009, 2010 and 2011).

ix.      Evidence of Financial Capability and Banking Support (bank reference), bank statements of account for the last three months and letter authorizing the Center to verify same from the bank.

x.       Sworn affidavit that:

(a)     The Firm is not bankrupt:

(b)     Non of the Directors is an Ex-convict or bankrupt.

xi.      Articulate work plan and methodology for the execution of the project.

xii.     Evidence of Employees Retirement Savings Accounts (RSA) with a         pension Fund Administrator.

xiii.    Evidence of remitting Employer and Employee Pension Contributions to the appropriate pension fund custodian.

xiv.    Evidence of transferring all pension funds and assets prior to the commencement of the pension Reform Act licensed pension operators.

Submission:
