- This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. ID-843108 of 9th December, 2004.
- The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has received a credit from the international Development Association toward the cost of Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the Procurement of Equipment for Gemstone Mining Technique Training.

- Bidders may quote for one or more complete lots, as bids will be evaluated and awarded on a lot-by-lot basis or combination of lots, whichever result to be most economical to the Employer. Unconditional discounts offered for the award of combined lots will be considered in bid evaluation. Bids for part of a lot will be considered non-responsive,
- Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Bidding Documents.
- Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Avian Influenza Control project and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am to 1:00pm on Friday.

- Experience as prime contractor in the carrying out of at least two projects of similar nature and complexity equivalent to the Works over the last five years (to comply with this requirement, the works cited should be at least 70 percent complete)
- Availability (own, lease, hire, etc.) of the essential equipment listed in the Bidding Data Sheet;
- A Contract Manager with five years’ experience in construction works of an equivalent nature and volume, including no less than three years as Contract Manager; and
- Liquid assets and/or credit facilities, net of other contractual commitments and exclusive of any advance payments which may be made under the Contract, of no less than :-

- Margin of preference for eligible national contractor/joint ventures SHALL NOT be applied.A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Fifteen Thousand Naira (.15,000.00) or its equivalent in any freely convertible currency for the first Lot and Ten Thousand Naira (10,000.00) or its equivalent in any freely convertible currency for each additional Lot. The method of payment will be by cash. The Bidding document will be collected by bidder’s representative or sent by courier services on request.
- Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday 20th October, 2010, Electronic bidding shall not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Invitation for Pre-Qualification to Tender for ETF BOT Sip Funded Constructions and Procurements
The Mal Idris Alooma Polytechnic Geidam, Yobe State, Nigeria is inviting interested contractors to bid in the pre-tender qualification exercise for its year 2010 ETF BOT- Special intervention funded construction of generator room and sports pitches projects, and procurement of some engineering, scientific, sports equipment and generator set. All the projects fully funded by the ETF are of moderate scopes.
The Scope of Work
Involved in the projects and their corresponding non-refundable pre-qualification tender fees payable to validate the bids are enunciated below:

Pre-Qualification Requirements
Interested contractors are invited to submit the following pre-qualification documents:
- Evidence of Registration with Corporate Affairs Commission.
- Tax Clearance Certificate for the three (3) years.
- VAT Registration Certificate.
- Evidence of Financial Capability including ability to start without mobilization fees.
- Audited Account of the bidder for the last three years.
- If applicable attach list of plants and equipment and their evidence of ownership.
- Verifiable list of similar and other jobs successful executed with their locations, including copies of fellers of award and completion certificates.
- Knowledge of location will be of added advantage.
- Receipt of non refundable pre-qualification processing fees of sums indicated against the projects (above) to validate the bid.
Original of documents i-iv above most be produced for sighting during the opening session.

The Project: Construction of Additional Classrooms for Primary Schools (Phase II) in the Federal Republic of Nigeria (the Project)
- The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (the Recipient) has received the Grant based on the Exchange of Notes (E/N) between the Recipient and the Government of Japan and the Grant Agreement (G/A) between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Recipient dated June 28,2010 for the purpose of the purchase of products and services necessary for the execution of the project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the Grant to eligible payments under the contract(s) for the construction of educational facilities in Kano state,
- Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) (the Employer) acts as the agent for Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) on behalf of the Recipient to procure the products and services in accordance with the E/N and G/A. The Employer is also delegated to conclude a contract with the contractor and to make a payment to the contractor
