Invitation for Expression of Interest for Petroleum Related Equipment to Universities, Research Institutions and Polytechnics

- 1. INTRODUCTION
The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), a parastatal under the aegis of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology has a mandate to promote indigenous as well as acquire and assimilate foreign technologies in discharging part of its mandate of Research- Industry Linkage, the Office is partnering with INDORAMA GROUP OF COMPANIES to strengthen the relevant R & D capabilities in Tertiary and Research Institutions. Under this partnership, Indorama has provided some assorted laboratory equipment specifically meant for petrochemically resources diagnosis and research
In view of the above, the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) hereby invites Universities, Research Institutes, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education who are engage in Oil and Gas Technology Acquisition/R/D to apply for grant of some or all of the Equipment
- 2. DETAILS OF THE EQUIPMENT
The equipment includes:
- Plasteometer (MFI Tester)
Make: ATS Faar (Itali)
Model: MEP2/PC
Application: Used to check Melt Flow Index (MFI) of various grades of PE & PP which indirectly gives an idea of molecular weight of polymer
- Gas Chromatograph
Make: FISONS
Model: 8130-00
Application: It is gas chromatograph with capillary injection port & having FID detector. It is with PC based and can be used by fitting interesting column for specific application
- pH Meter
Make: Mettler Toledo
Model: MP 220
Application: Used to check the pH of any aqueous solution/water or waste water.
- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Interested institutions should express their express their interest with a written application, naming the particular equipment of interest.
Such applications should include the following:
- Evidence of Present Research Activities that would necessitate the use of the Desired Equipment
- Evidence of Competent Laboratory Personnel to manage the Desired Equipment
- Present Alternative Equipment in use before now
- Evidence of Previous Work Done with Similar Equipment including published papers, patents, etc
- Maintenance Brief of Existing Equipment
- Submission of Documents
The pre-qualification document should be submitted in was sealed envelope marked “Expression of Interest for the Award of Petroleum and Gas Related Resources Diagnostic Equipment to Universities, Research Institutions, and Polytechnics” and addressed to:

The document should reach the undersigned not later than 12noon, four weeks from the date of this advertisement. The Tenders would be opened at 2.00pm on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at the NOTAP Conference Room, in the presence of the bidders or their representatives
