This request for expressions of interest fellows the general procurement notice for this project titled NG Nigeria LUTP-II (FY 10) that appeared in dg market publication of July 16, 2010,

 

 

The Lagos and Kano State Governments through the Federal Republic of Nigeria have received a grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) towards the cost of Lagos Urban Transport Project (LUTP II) and development of public transport delivery capacity in Kano. LAMATA intends to apply part of the grant to cover eligible payments under the contract for the following consultancy services:

The main objectives of this study are as follows:

The purpose of the present consultancy is to carry out data collection in a range of traffic field studies for the city of Kano, characterizing both supply and demand. The objective of the data exercise is threefold. First, it should help establish base-year conditions for a number of transport indicators, to be specified. Second, it should establish quantitative basis for development of a medium term strategic plan in the development of a bus-based public transport network. Third, it should provide the underlying data to support the conceptual designs for investments in road infrastructure and/or traffic management that would be critical to ensuring successful implementation of the recommended public transport system

 

 

 

LAMATA now invites eligible consulting firms to express interest in providing the above services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services. The submission of the interested consultants will include the firm’s brochures, information on firm’s qualifications in the field of the assignment such as core business area and years in business, experience of the firm in similar assignment, experience in similar condition, technical and managerial capabilities of the firm, availability of appropriate skills among staff etc. For each project performed the consultant shall provide the name and contact address of the client (office & e-mail address, and telephone number), date(s) of execution, name(s) of lead and associate firms, contract amount and financing sources. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. Where firms are associating, the submission must include verifiable evidence of association from all the parties involved.

 

 

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the World Bank Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by the World Bank Borrowers, January 1997, (Revised September 1997, January 1999, May 2002, May 2004, October 2006 and May 2010.

The main objectives of this study are as follows:

The primary purpose of the present consultancy is to recommend short-term investments to support both the eventual development of a bus-based public transport network in Kano city, and design an intervention program to demonstrate the potential of such a system to a skeptical public along a single corridor in Kano. These recommendations shall include selection and concept design of a pilot bus corridor, and selection and design of critical traffic management improvements that would likely be necessary in order for an intra-­urban bus system to function effectively in Kano City. As part of the process, targeted data collection activities will need to be carried out in order to provide adequate quantitative and qualitative inputs to the analysis needed to meet the primary objective. While the consultant shall not be responsible for the actual data collection itself (a separate consultancy is being procured for that), a secondary purpose of the present consultancy is to guide and oversee the activities of the data collection consultant, to ensure quality and robustness

Invitation for Pre-Qualification and Tender

1.0.      Introduction

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto intends to execute projects approved by the Education Trust Fund (ETF) using the 2010 Special Intervention for the Rehabilitation, Furnishing and Equipping the Central ICT Laboratory in the University. The university hereby invites bids for pre-qualification and tender from competent, reputable and interested companies to submit their pre-qualification and tender documents for assessment.

 

2.0.    Scope of the Project

The scope of the project is the Rehabilitation, Furnishing and Equipping the Central ICT Laboratory in the University.

 

3.0.    Pre-Qualification and Tender Requirements

3.1.0. Prequalification Requirements

Prospective companies who wish to participate in the execution of the projects are required to submit their pre-qualification bids containing the underlisted documents.

a.    Certified true copy of certificate of registration/incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission:

b.    Certified true copy of company’s Tax Clearance Certificates for the last three years and VAT registration;

c.     Evidence of current registration with the University;

d.    Evidence of financial capability to execute the project (s), e.g. audited accounts for the last three (3) years and a letter of reference from their bankers

e.     Evidence of similar and verifiable projects successful executed by the contractor indicating locations, letters of award and completion certificates in the last five years;

f.     List of major items of equipment possessed by the contractor;

g.    List of managerial, technical and administrative staff of the contractor; and

h.    Evidence of payment of staff pension contributions to National Pension Commission (PENCOM),

 

3.2.0. Tender Requirements

The pre-qualification documents submitted by interested companies will be assessed and only tenders of those found competent and pre-qualified will be opened for evaluation

 

4.0.    Collection of Tender Documents

The tender documents can be collected from the office of the Director, Physical Planning and Maintenance, after the payment of a non-refundable tender fee of fifty thousand naira (N50,000:00) only in Bank Draft payable to Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and present a receipt of payment from the Bursar.

 

5.0.    Submission of Pre-Qualification and Tender Documents

The completed pre-qualification and tender documents must be submitted in separate and sealed envelopes, with the names of the projects for which the documents are submitted, marked clearly on the envelopes.

6.0.    Closing Date for Receipt Of Pre-Qualification And Tender Documents

The closing date for the receipt of the documents is on 28th July 2011. The pre-qualification documents will be opened on the same date by 12:30 pm. Thereafter, successfully pre-qualified contractors’ bids will be opened and evaluated.

The Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic. Birnin-Kebbi is desirous of undertaking projects under its ETF 2009 2010 merged approved project and therefore wishes to invite reputable contractors to pre-qualify and tender for the following projects:

2.       LOT  “B”    Construction of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning.
