Consultancy Services for Rapid development of short-term program of investment for developing the core public transport network in Kano City

The main objectives of this study are as follows:

The primary purpose of the present consultancy is to recommend short-term investments to support both the eventual development of a bus-based public transport network in Kano city, and design an intervention program to demonstrate the potential of such a system to a skeptical public along a single corridor in Kano. These recommendations shall include selection and concept design of a pilot bus corridor, and selection and design of critical traffic management improvements that would likely be necessary in order for an intra-urban bus system to function effectively in Kano City. As part of the process, targeted data collection activities will need to be carried out in order to provide adequate quantitative and qualitative inputs to the analysis needed to meet the primary objective. While the consultant shall not be responsible for the actual data collection itself (a separate consultancy is being procured for that), a secondary purpose of the present consultancy is to guide and oversee the activities of the data collection consultant, to ensure quality and robustness
