Invitation for Pre Qualification of Interested Companies for the Survey of the Proposed Engineering Complex at the Main Campus

 

 

1.       Introduction

The University of Uyo, Uyo intends to engage the services of interested, competent companies who have experience in survey for delineation of site for the proposed Faculty of Engineering Complex at the University Main Campus.  Interested companies are invited to submit pre-qualification documents for consideration.

Scope

(a)     Delineation of perimeter boundary Area of 50,000 square metres (5 hectares) within the University of Uyo Main Campus at Nwaniba Road.

(b)     Product of topographical map of the site with spot levels

(c)      Production of contour map of the entire area.

(d)     Identify major land features within 50 metres beyond the site

(e)      indicate all major existing access Into and through the site,

(f)      Any other information necessary for proper completion of the project

 

 

Pre-Qua1ification Requirements

i.)      Evidence of experience as a prime contractor on, at least, one project of similar nature and complexity within the last three years, stating client cost with completion certificates and photographs

ii.)     Have been a Project Manager of between 7-10 years experience of equivalent nature and volume;

iii).    Organizational structure with the names of key personnel involved in project implementation stating qualifications and professional registrations where applicable (enclose photocopies of professional qualifications);

iv.)    Evidence of incorporation or business name registration;

v.)     Evidence of tax clearance for the last three years;

vi)     Evidence of financial capability and bank reference letter or evidence of financial backing from bank, and audited account of the company for the last three years;

vii)    VAT registration and evidence of past VAT remittance;

viii)   Evidence of employees open Retirement Savings Accounts (RSA) with a Pension Food Administrator of choice for indigenous companies,

ix)     A letter authorizing University of Uyo, Uyo to verify claims with relevant    agencies and bodies;

 

 

Submission of Documents/Opening of Bids

Two copies each of completed pre qualification documents shall be by hand sealed envelopes, clearly marked “pre-qualification to tender”, indicating the name of project on the left hand corner of the envelop. Submission should be addressed to:

1.0     The Federal Medical Centre, Bida has planned to execute some projects in the 2012 fiscal year. Consequently, the Centre invites competent and reputable Firms with expertise for the execution of the projects below to submit Documents for Prequalification Tender:

 

1.       Construction and Renovation Projects

2.       Supply of Medical Equipment

 

2.0     Bid Documents should be obtained by hand from the Procurement Unit of the Centre on the submission of the evidence of payment of a non refundable processing fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10.000.00) only. The method of payment will be by Bank Draft payable to Federal Medical Centre, Bida.

 

3 0     Bid Documents MUST be submitted in 2 separate sealed envelopes. One each for the Technical and Financial bids for the LOT and clearly marked “TECHNICAL BID” OR FINANCIAL BID” with the specified Code Number at the top right hand corner of the envelope, All unmarked bids will be rejected.

3.1     All envelopes for the TECHNICAL BID must contain the following documents.

i.        Comprehensive Company Profile indicating Managerial  Structural  Technical  and  Operational Capabilities

ii.       Evidence of valid Certificate of Registration with Corporate Affairs  Commission (CAC)

iii.      Company Audited Account for the last 3 successive years (2009, 2010, and 2011).

iv.      Evidence of Tax Clearance Certificate for the last 3 successive years 2009, 2010, and 2011);

v.       Evidence of VAT Registration and VAT Remittance

vi.      Evidence of financial Capability & or Banking Support;

viii.    List of similar projects previously undertaken (with evidence of completion);

viii.    Verifiable evidence of available of appropriate manpower, machinery and equipment:

ix.      Confirmation of Tender Validity Period of at least 120 days from the date of bid opening;

x.       Evidence of Employees Open Retirement Savings Account (RSA) with a Pension Administrator of their choice:

xi.      Evidence of Remittance for both Employee and Employee Pension Contribution to the appropriate Pension Fund Custodian not later than 7 days from the date of payment of salaries;

xii.     Evidence of transfer of all Pension Funds and Assets prior to the commencement of the Pension Reform Act to licensed Pension Operators;

xiii.    Any other additional information/document that will enhance the Company’s application.

3.2     Bid Documents should be obtained on or before 10th May, 2012

3.3     Only Bidders who qualify from the Technical Bid assessment will have their Financial Bids opened for analysis. They shall be invited for that not later than 10th May, 2012 from the Technical Bids opening day,

3.4     Submission of the Bid Documents is not a contractual agreement between any Company and Federal Medical Centre, Bida. Only Companies that are successful at both the Technical and Financial bidding sessions will be contacted for further processes.

4.0     All Bids shall be submitted in wax sealed envelopes

4.1     All sealed envelopes must have the Company’s Name, Address and contact Phone number clearly written at the second side of the envelope and addressed to:
