  1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. ID-843108 of 9th December, 2004.
  2. The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the Supply and Installation of Office Furniture at Mining Cadastre Office (MCO) Headquarters, Abuja.
  3. The Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the:

  1. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB), a procedure specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
  2. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project at the address below and inspect the Bidding Documents from 11:00am to 4:00pm Mondays to Fridays.
  3. Qualifications requirements include:
  • Documentary evidence of previous supply (sale) and delivery of similar Furniture proposed, with size equivalent to the one bided, for the last 5 years.
  • Audited Financial Statements for the last 3 years to demonstrate the financial capability of the Bidder in terms of Profitability and adequate working capital.

A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall not be applied; Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

  1. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of N 10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira) only or equivalent in any convertible currency. The method of payment will be bank draft in favor of Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project. The Bidding Documents will be collected by the representative of the Bidder or by courier services on request.
  2. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 1:00pm on Wednesday January 5th, 2011. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.   1. The Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project (SMMRP) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders to carry out the Provision of External Lighting Services at the National Geosciences Research Laboratory Centre, Kaduna.
  2. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Bidding Documents.
  3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project (SMMRP) and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs, Monday to Friday.
  4. Qualifications requirements include:
  • An average annual financial amount of construction work over the last five years of: N 52.5M
  • Experience as prime contractor in the carrying out of at least two projects of similar nature and complexity equivalent to the Works over the last five years (to comply with this requirement, the works cited should be at least 70 percent complete)
  • Availability (own, lease, hire, etc.) of the essential equipment listed in the Bidding Data Sheet.
  • A Contract Manager with five years’ experience in construction works of an equivalent nature and volume, including no less than three years as Contract Manager; and
  • Liquid assets and/or credit facilities, net of other contractual commitments and exclusive of any advance payments which may be made under the Contract, of no less than N 6.9M.
  • A margin of preference for eligible national contractors/joint ventures shall hot be applied.

Call for Expression of Interest

The Federal Republic of Nigeria has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this consulting service. The consulting service is on the Training of Dimension Stone Quarrying Operators in Nigeria. The consultant will assist government in providing a conductive environment for the rapid development of Nigerian Dimension stone by exposing operators to modern quarry techniques. The assignment will include;

  1. Preliminary Mission to Nigeria to access the training needs of the operators and identify suitable quarries for the practicals;
  2. Training (to be held in Abuja or Kaduna) to include

–       Pre-   investment   operations   (Target identification Evaluation, Infrastructure models etc.)

–        Production operations (quarrying methods, equipment, environmental plan, safety, etc)

The Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project now invites eligible Consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services, Interested Consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (CVs, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, etc).

A consulting firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 edition)

The selection Method is CONSULTANT QUALIFICATION
