Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Various Consulting Services for the year 2012

This request for Expression, of Interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 637 and Daily Trust Newspaper of Nigeria of 3rd July, 2009.

 

The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International of the Third National Fadama Development Project (Fadama III) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for the following consulting Services to be implemented in the year 2012.

1 Zonal Training of Trainers on Scaling Up Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Practices. To strengthen local development processes by raising capacity of stakeholders to include land degradation and climate risks in rural development planning, particularly as affecting smallholder agricultural production. The specific objective of the exercise is as follows a. to deliver series of capacity building and learning events specific to SLM practices and technologies; b. to serve as SIM knowledge focal points in each of the project zones; and c. to develop a detailed, customized SLM technological handbook and disseminate same for the specific awareness and capacity building needs of the different stakeholder groups.

2 Content Development on Community-owned farmers calls centres Develop a software that will support all stage of farming activities such as Farm management system, Extension system and Agriculture marketing information system May -June, 2012
3 Quarterly TV documentary Production of Fadama III Documentary on success stories and Project Achievements on TV station. May –June, 2012
4 Environmental Audit. Specialized and Systematic scrutiny of Environmental Performance throughout the Fadama III operation through site visits, facilities inspections, interviews etc. with emphasis on improving the quality, effectiveness, availability, affordability and timeliness of Environmental and Social issues June, 2012
5 Devt of information education communication Production of short radio clips and posters on Radio station in Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo on Fadama III success stories. June, 2012
6 Procurement Audit It will help to seek conclusion on the procurement and contracting procedures and processes followed for the community contracts; and review compliance with the World Bank’s general guiding principles of economy and efficiency, equal opportunity, transparency and quality including but not limited to, the extent possible, technical, physical completion aspects of contracts June, 2012
7 External Audit To review the financial statements of the project and express opinion on whether it reflects a true and fair view of the financial transaction for the year of reporting December, 2012

 

The National Fadama Coordination Office (NFCO) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services. Consequently, the Consultant should submit along with their EOI documentary evidence to show:

  • General qualifications and number of key staff;
  • Description of similar assignments;
  • Nature of the assignments, locations and dates; and any other relevant information.

 

Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

 

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004 (revised October 2006 and May 2010)

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by Tuesday May 01,2012.
