Pre-Qualification of Contractors for the Re-Development of Kogi Hotels, Lokoja
The Government of Kogi State is re-positioning the State Capital, Lokoja to rank with its peers in aesthetic appeal, and more importantly, as a tourism hub in view of its rich tourist potentials, and its central location in the Nigerian landscape. Part of the strategic initiative in this direction, is the redevelopment of the Kogi Hotels, situated in a vintage and an up-scale environment in the State Capital. With a desire for quality delivery, and to achieve the translation of a well-conceived concept into reality, applications for pre-qualification are hereby invited from interested, qualified competent and financially capable contractors for the re-development of Kogi Hotels, Lokoja comprising of the following features:
1. Six numbers, 2 bedroom executive lounges
2. Four numbers, 1 bedroom serviced apartments
3. One number service building consisting of 38 numbers single rooms accommodation, 4 numbers meeting rooms, 15 numbers administrative offices, 15 numbers lettable shops, 1 number kitchen, 6 numbers staff changing rooms and 10 numbers toilets.
4. One number conference hall, consisting of offices, stage, rehearsal rooms and sitting capacity for about 500 guests.
5. One number Club House/Recreation Centre, consisting of a bar, gymnasium, snooker room, table tennis room, massage rooms, sauna rooms, changing rooms and swimming pools for adults and children.
6. One enclosed squash court with gallery
7. One sculpture garden
8. Gazebos
9. A car park for150vehictes
10. Generator House
11. Perimeter Fence
Pre-Qualification Requirements
The following documents should be submitted in the order listed for the purpose of assessment.
1. Evidence of incorporation of the company with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
2. Memorandum and Articles of Association of the company and an up to date annual returns with the CAC.
3. Company profile, with Certificates, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of key personnel.
4. Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three years, i.e. 2010, 2011, 2012
5. Company audited account over the last three years.
6. Evidence of VAT registration.
7. Evidence of successful completion of similar projects. (Letters of Commission and Certificates of practical completion)
8. Reference letter from a reputable bank.
9. Sworn affidavit certifying the following:
i. The company is not in insolvency or receivership.
ii. The company does not have any Director who has been convicted by any court for financial offence in relation to fraud or financial impropriety.
iii. That no Officer of Kogi State Government is a former or present director or shareholder of the company.
iv. That there has been no promise of any gift in any form to any Kogi State Government official.
10. Verifiable evidence of relevant equipment and facilities and their location (where they can be inspected) with proof of ownership, hire or lease agreement.
11. All photocopies of documents should be submitted in colour. Originals should be made available for sighting on request.
Submission of Documents
Pre-qualification documents should be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked “Confidential”, along with the proper description of the contract. The submissions should be addressed to:

Closing Date of Submission:
Closing date for the submission of Pre-qualification applications shall be 27th May 2013, while the opening of submissions shall be on the same date at 1.00pm in the Conference Hall of the office of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State.

Only qualified contractors shall be contacted after the closing of submissions. This advertisement shall not be construed as a commitment on the part of the Kogi State Government, nor shall it entitle Pre-qualification applicants to seek any indemnity from the Government of Kogi State by virtue of their response to this advertisement.
