Invitation for Pre-Qualification of Contractors

Preamble:

Approval has been granted to the Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board to carry out rehabilitation works in schools. The works include renovation, restructuring /reconstruction of existing dilapidated school buildings, construction of new classrooms to address shortfall of accommodation and the supply of Instructional materials, pupils’ and teachers’ furniture under the 2008/2009 matching grant intervention fund to meet the learning needs of the selected schools on a Comprehensive basis.

 

The works are to be executed in a time range of 8 to 12 weeks.

 

Accordingly, applications for pre-qualification of contractors are invited from interested companies registered by the Cross River State Due Process and Price Intelligence Dept. in the categories E and above

 

2.       Scope of Work

The work comprise:-

Renovation/Restructuring and Reconstruction of dilapidated school buildings,

 

Lot 1 Construction of new classrooms and new toilet building

 

Lot 2 Supply of Pupils and Teachers furniture as well as ECCDE furniture

 

Lot 3 Supply of Instructional materials

 

3.       Criteria for Pre-Qualification of Contractors

To qualify for pre-qualification, the interested companies should submit 2 copies of their profiles which should include:

 

  • Evidence of incorporation of company or business name
  • Registration with the CRS Due Process and Price Intelligence Department in the relevant category
  • Company Audited Accounts for the past three years (2008-2010)
  • Evidence of Tax Clearance Certificate for the past 3 years (2008-2010)
  • Evidence of Financial Capability and Bank Support
  • Experience/ Technical qualification and experience of key personnel
  • Evidence of Registration of Technical Personnel with relevant Professional Regulating Bodies
  • Equipment and Technology capacity
  • Knowledge of the industry/similar projects executed in the past
  • VAT registration and evidence of VAT remittances
  • Annual Turn Over of company.

 

4.     Publication of Pre-Qualification Result/Invitation To Bid

The pre-qualified list of companies shall be published in the notice board of State University Basic Education Board, on 25th March 2011 after the close of applications for pre-qualification. Bidding documents shall be issued to only the successful companies.

 

5.       Mode of Submission/Deadline of Applications

All applications for pre-qualification of contractors are to be submitted in sealed envelopes measuring 29.5 x 36.5cm marked at the top right corner. PRE-QUALIFICATION”, according to the Lots specified above and addressed to:

The applications must reach the PRS Department, Block 10 Room 9 on or before 12.00 noon Thursday 7th April, 2011. The register for the receipt of applications would be closed at 12.00noon of the under reference, while, the opening of pre-qualification applications would commence same day at 12.15p.m.

 

All applicants making submission must a register in the office of Director, PRS Department of the Board for proof that the applications were received.

 

Note: Notwithstanding the submission of applications for pre-qualification of contractors, the Board is not obliged to include your company, in the final list of qualified companies, nor shall any form of compensation be paid for responding to this advertisement. Only short listed companies shall be allowed to bid for the works.

 

Any further details/clarifications pertaining to the advertised works should be sought from the notice’s board of SUBEB, office of the Director PRS or from the Procurement Unit of the Board.
