Personal Services Contractor (PSC) for Formative Research on PMTCT Services Uptake in Nigeria

Communication for Change (C-Change) is USAID’s project for improving the effectiveness and sustainability of communication programs across multiple sectors: population, health, environment and civil society. The program is implemented by FHI Development 360 LLC (FHI360).
Recently, the USAID commissioned C-Change to implement a demand creation campaign for the increase of prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) services’ uptake in the country; C-Change wishes to conduct a formative research on knowledge, attitude and barriers to uptake of PMTCT services in Nigeria. The result of this study will inform the development of a national demand creation communication strategy for PMTCT. The purpose of this solicitation is to contract the services of a personal services contractor (PSC) with requisite technical experience in qualitative and quantitative research techniques to work with C-Change to conduct formative research on the PMTCT knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of specific audience segments as well as barriers to PMTCT service uptake by pregnant women in Nigeria. The preferred candidate shall have the responsibility of putting together a team of qualified personnel to complete the stated tasks of this assignment and should have the necessary skills, education and experience to accomplish the assigned tasks.
Person Specification for PSC:
A. At least ten years experience in quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
B. Relevant experience in Public Health research including data management
C. Evidence of similar work done
D. At least a Masters Degree or advanced degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Health Economics or Epidemiology.
