TO:   All potential Community Based Organizations (CBO) and Faith Based Organizations (FBO) working in the following states:   Rivers and Imo.

Dear CBO or FBO:

The Community Based Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children Program (CUBS-OVC)  in Nigeria will provide small grants to CBOs, NGOs, and FBOs with the goal to improve well-being of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) through delivery of critical community-based services. The OVC Program in Nigeria will support the National Plan of Action on OVC by developing and strengthening community based service delivery for orphans and vulnerable children as well as building community ownership, reducing gender discrimination and increasing OVC involvement and advocacy.

Examples of services may include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Psychosocial support
  2. Education
  3. Health
  4. Child protection
  5. Shelter and care
  6. Food/nutrition
  7. Household Economic strengthening

In addition to awarding the small grants, the CUBS project will provide CBOs with some training and capacity building to assist them in improving their services and support.

Any organization interested in being considered must indicate an interest and then we will send a prequalification questionnaire to fill. The organizations which prequalify will be sent a Request for Application (RFA) to submit a full proposal.

All CBOs and FBOs must currently be registered in Nigeria and be physically resident in the Local Government Area (LGA) where they propose to work and be considered. Ensure you indicate your contact person’s name, telephone number, state and local government in which you are operating.

Interested groups should kindly send their indication of interest by email to bids_nigeria@msh.org with the subject “Indication of Interest to provide OVC Support Services” on or before 12th April, 2013.
