1. The Federal Government of Nigeria has received financing from World Bank towards the cost of STEP-B Project and intends to apply part of the funds towards payment under contract for the Procurement of machines, equipment and raw materials for laboratory glass-wares.
The STEP-B Project, FED. POLY ADO – EKITI now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified Contractors for the procurement of machines, equipment and raw materials for laboratory glass-wares.

2. Collection of Bidding Documents
A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested contractors upon payment of non-refundable fee of Twenty Five Thousand (25,000.00) Naira Only for each lot, payable to FPA STEP-B Project Account No. 03640040000881 with UBAAdo – Ekiti Branch.
Bidding documents may be collected at the address below between 8:00am-4:00pm, Mondays to Fridays.
3. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB), a procedure specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project manager, STEP-B Project, Federal Polytechnic, Ado – Ekiti Nigeria and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below, between the hours of 9.00am to 4.00pm Mondays to Fridays, except on public holidays.
5. Qualification Requirements Include:
i. Evidence of previous supply (sale) of similar equipment for the past five (5) years.
ii. Audited financial statements for the last three (3) years.
iii. Manufacturers Authorization for equipment not manufactured/produced by bidder.
iv. Evidence of compliance with the Pension Reform Act 2004.
A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Document.
6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of N25,000.00 (Twenty Five Thousand) Naira Only.
7. Submission of Bidding Documents
Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12:00 noon on the closing date which shall be on or before Thursday, 13th December 2012 by 12noon. Late submission would be rejected. Bidding documents must be in sealed envelope and addressed to: (state the proposed Lot of choice):

8. Opening of Bids
Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who chose to attend in person at the address as follows:
- Closing Date/Time: Thursday, 13th December, 2012 at 12noon prompt.
- Opening Date/Time: Thursday, 13th December, 2012 at 1.00pm
- Opening Venue: Governing Council Chambers.
9. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid security of at least 2.5% of the Bid price in a freely convertible currency/medium from a reputable bank in Nigeria. Contractors are also expected to indicate the validity period for Bids submitted.
